1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By downloading, installing, or using the Noora First Words mobile application ("the App"), you ("you" or "User") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. If you are a parent or legal guardian allowing a child to use the App, you accept these Terms on the child's behalf and are responsible for their use.

2. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE

Noora First Words is a vocabulary and speech learning application designed to help young children practice first words. The App provides:

  • Themed vocabulary categories (e.g., colors, food, numbers, transportation)
  • Video demonstrations of target words
  • Speech challenges using text-to-speech audio and on-device voice detection
  • Progress tracking of completed word challenges

The App is intended for use by children under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

3. ACCOUNT REGISTRATION

  1. You must create an account to use the App. Account creation requires a valid email address and a password (or a one-time passcode).
  2. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  3. You must be at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account. Accounts are intended to be created by parents or legal guardians on behalf of their children.
  4. You agree to provide accurate and current information during registration.

4. PERMITTED USE

  1. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial, educational purposes.
  2. You may not: (i) copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App; (ii) reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the App; (iii) use the App for any unlawful purpose; (iv) attempt to gain unauthorized access to the App's systems or servers; or (v) use the App in any manner that could interfere with, disrupt, or negatively affect the App or its servers.

5. CONTENT

  1. All content provided through the App — including but not limited to videos, images, audio, text, and educational materials — is owned by or licensed to Noora and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.
  2. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any content in the App without prior written permission.

6. MICROPHONE ACCESS

  1. The App requests microphone permission to detect voice activity during speech challenges. Audio is processed entirely on the user's device.
  2. No audio recordings are transmitted to, stored on, or accessible by our servers. Recordings are temporarily created on-device for real-time voice activity analysis and are deleted immediately after processing.

7. AVAILABILITY AND UPDATES

  1. We strive to keep the App available and functional, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
  2. The App may be updated from time to time. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of any changes.
  3. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App (or any part of it) at any time without prior notice.

8. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR FREE OF ERRORS OR DEFECTS. THE APP IS AN EDUCATIONAL TOOL AND DOES NOT REPLACE PROFESSIONAL SPEECH THERAPY OR MEDICAL ADVICE.

9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL NOORA, ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

10. TERMINATION

  1. We may suspend or terminate your account and access to the App at our discretion, without prior notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to the App or its users.
  2. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.
  3. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

11. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

12. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
